What are the main causes of thinning hair?
Several factors play a role in thinning hair including genetics, lifestyle and eating. The most common cause of long-standing hair thinning is male and female pattern hair loss also known as androgenetic alopecia. This is also known as male pattern hair loss and female pattern hair loss. Both hormones and genetics play a role.
How does that happen?
Enzymatic conversion of testosterone to DHT. DHT is a toxin that blocks receptor sites in the hair follicle that normally attract nutrients. Suffocation of the hair bulb: As collagen accumulates around the hair bulb it hardens, resulting in suffocation of the Bulb that prevents a root from taking a firm deep hold in the scalp.
How does hair thin?
The normal growth cycle of a single hair strand can last anywhere from 2 to 6 years. When hair is healthy and growing at a steady rate, it grows about a half inch per month. When hair is thinning, the growth cycle shortens and stays in the actively growing phase for shorter periods of time. Anagen phase is the growth phase, which lasts 3 to 5 years and includes 90% of hair. Catagen phase is an approximately three weeks regression phase in which hair growth stops. Telogen phase is the 3 to 5 months rest phase in the hair growth cycle. Miniturization occurs at the end of the telogen phase when the hair falls out, and instead of being as thick as the previous hairs, they are being replaced by thinner, finer versions of themselves. It is common to lose some hairs on a daily basis through washing or styling. The normal amount is 50 to 100 hairs per day. If a person loses more than 100 hairs every day, this is considered excessive or premature hair loss.
How does the cerafill system technology work?
Ceramide strengthens the hair fiber to prevent breakage. SP – 94 nourishes the scalp and zinc PCA, a known DHT inhibitor, promotes a healthy environment. Filloxane works on every hair strand to create a visually fuller effect. Minoxidil stimulates follicles to help regrow hair.
New cerafill systems include two easy to navigate systems – Defy for the early signs of thinning hair and Retaliate for advanced thinning hair-  that can be customized based on the stage of hair thinning. Additionally, cerafill has two treatment stylers that thicken and enhance all types of thinning hair, and can be used by anyone. All cerafill products are safe for color treated and chemically treated hair.
In addition to using an effective cerafill treatment regiment, make an appointment with your stylist.
